Blackberry : Optimalisasi Fungsi

Pengguna Blackberry Indonesia yang mencapai sekira 215 ribu pengguna dirasakan masih memiliki pengetahuan yang minim mengenai handset keluaran Research in Motion itu. Bahkan, operator telekomunikasi juga dinilai kurang memberikan informasi seputar Blackberry. Akibatnya, handset tersebut hanya dijadikan sebagai ajang 'gaya-gayaan' karena hanya digunakan untuk sms-an atau telepon.

Menurut moderator mailing list Blackberry Community Indonesia, Faizal Adiputra pengguna Blackberry bisa mengoptimalkan pemakaian sejak pertama kali menggunakannya. Pengguna harus memiliki pengetahuan untuk mengoptimalkan fitur dan layanan yang tersedia di blackberry.

Faizal mencoba memberikan tips dan Trick bagaimana menggunakan BB yang optimal mulai dari register hingga mengatasi problem yang dialami pemegang Blackberry, seperti sinyal lemah, dan aplikasi yang cocok, melakukan up date.

Secara umum pengguna awam BB dapat menghubungi operator layanan yang dimilikinya, baik melalui call center, customer service, email, atau datang langsung ke galery center operator. Selain itu, pengguna juga bisa langsung menuju ke distributor atau partner Blackberry. Sedangkan untuk optimalisasi handset seperti membuat baterei BB lebih awet, Faizal memberikan tipsnya seperti, menurunkan screen brightness. Default BB menunjukkan angka screen brightness 100, ada baiknya pengguna menurunkan brightness sekira 10 menjadi 90. kedua, matikan led indicator dan minimalkan profil suara, mungkin pengguna bisa menggunakan suara hanya untuk menerima sms atau panggilan telepon.

Selain itu, untuk urusan memori, pengguna bisa melakukan cara me-restart BB miliknya satu kali sehari atau mencabut batereinya tiap pagi. Banyaknya bahasa yang digunakan di tawarkan BB selama ini cukup memakan banyak memori, untuk itu ada baiknya pengguna melakukan uninstall bahasa yang terdapat di ponsel pintar itu.

Permasalahan lain yang sering dihadapi banyak pengguna BB adalah membengkaknya biaya tagihan saat menggunakan BB di luar Indonesia. Sebab itu, sebelum bepergian ke luar negeri, pemilik sebaiknya pemilik menghentikan kiriman email dari mailist untuk sementara, gunakan e-mail untuk keperluan kerja atau personal. Pengguna juga diharapkan cermat dalam menggunakan pulsa, atau mungkin menggunakan cukup menggunakan Wi-Fi yang tersedia di luar negeri. Satu hal yang perlu diingat pengguna blackberry adalah kurangi pengiriman gambar atau file-file berat secara berlebihan, jika terpaksa gunakan fasilitas Wi-Fi.

Research In Motion menggandeng Hewlett-Packard (HP) dalam merancang perangkat lunak untuk BlackBerry baru baru ini. CloudPrint buatan HP yang ada di BlackBerry menjadi salah satu contoh kerja sama tersebut. CloudPrint adalah layanan berbasis web yang memungkinkan pengguna mencetak surat elektronik, dokumen, foto, dan halaman web pada setiap jenis printer sepanjang mereka dapat mengakses Internet.

HP juga akan meluncurkan perangkat lunak yang disebut HP Operations Manager bagi BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Tujuannya mengelola dan mengendalikan teknologi informasi. HP mempertontonkan layanan web dan perangkat lunak server pada ajang Wireless Enterprise Symposium pada 5-7 Mei ini di Orlando, Florida.

Namun, juru bicara HP tidak mengatakan kapan perangkat lunak tersebut tersedia di pasar. Perangkat itu dirancang untuk digunakan dalam BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0. PCWORLD
